intermediate percussionists will enjoy the numerous independent sticking combinations and meter changes that permeate this two movement piece. While the majority of the piece is composed with the right hand carrying the melodic material and the left hand the accompaniment, there are several sections where the roles are reversed. Modulations from and back to the tonal center at the restatement of the main theme add a challenging twist at the end of the second movement.
