Written for marimba and violin, this short piece is great for programming in a concert or joint recital. The piece begins with a call and response section with the violin utilizing different techniques such as trills and pizzicato. The tempo jumps up to 160 and the marimba begins an eighth note pattern that provides a harmonic and rhythmic foundation for the violin theme. The contrasting section puts the marimba as the primary voice. The piece then returns to the main theme with some variations and ends with an instrumental flourish which will be sure to excite any audience.
